Appearance: (feel free to post a picture here)

General Background:
Example: Santana Lopez is a sophomore at William McKinley High School. She's a Cheerio and also in New Directions. Most people think she's pretty bitchy and kind of easy and those people would be right, but that is not all she is.

(Feel free to go a little more in depth, but we don't need the character's whole life story.)

Writing Sample:
Chances are if you've made it this far in the application process, you can read, but we'd like to know if you can write as well. In your character's voice, please give us a writing sample. It can be no less then a paragraph, and no more then a page.

"Once accepted, please post your application (minus the essay) to your character's journal profile as their bio. Once we have checked that you journal is all set up and all your information is put in place, we will delete your original application, cause they are freaking huge."

Dear Journal,

What is it about Mondays that makes me want to feed kittens to rabid baby sharks? Perhaps it is coming into school and having to see how much everything is barreling towards the fiery pits of Hell.

Figgins told me he is going to cut some funding from MY Cheerios and give it to the glee club. He talks about that worthless excuse for show choir like it is some saving grace at this school. The ONLY thing William McKinley has going for it is MY cheerleading squad.

No one takes funding from Sue Sylvester. I have got to bring the club down and there's only one way to do it: Espionage.

Once I have that set into motion, I can focus back on the real issue: The Blackout. Clearly, it was a call for Sue Sylvester to rise up and take charge. This is MY golden opportunity to provide everyone with an answer, to get them on my side, and to TAKE OVER THE WORLD. If I place blame on the governments of the world, I can strike fear in the hearts of millions. Once I have their fear, I can use that to rule them. Earth is getting a new name once Sue Sylvester runs it: SueNation.

01. No more than two characters per player, this rule will probably change after we get more people, but for now. I also encourage people playing the main 19 to branch out and make original characters.

02. I know people are busy, so am I, but you have to post at least weekly. If you go more then 3 weeks with out posting and have not contacted the mod to explain why, I will reopen your character to someone else.

03a. No GodModding. If the character isn't yours, don't mess with them without the consent of their player.

03b. This is a high school game and I don't know that this would even come up, but just in case it does, this has to be a rule. For any event like pregnancy, you must have BOTH players agree to any one being pregnant. (Tina cannot get knocked up with Mike's baby unless BOTH Tina and Mike's players agree to it.) In addition, all pregnancy plots must have mod approval.

04. I will not be policing your playing as a mod outside of the pregnancy rule, but if I feel like your storyline is inappropriate or too far-fetched, I will probably mention it to you. This isn't me attacking you. I love crazy storylines as most people know, but I might have to ask you to reign it in a bit. I will also come after you if I find that you have limited your characters' interactions to one or two other characters. There's no reason for this to happen. Brittany should be talking to Rachel and Tina, not just Santana.

05. Sex, slash and femslash is allowed in this game. If you as a player do not feel comfortable with sex, slash, or femslash, please say so in the OOC comm. Also, if you do feel comfortable with it, please put any PG-13+ rated material behind a cut and label it. Thank you! I don't take this rule lightly and you will hear from me if you don't.

06. Any flamming, hate language, or other inappropriate stuff will get you warned then banned. This is a wank-free zone. I'm aware that there are a lot of players with different personalities, but this is a game. It's supposed to be fun. If you have issues or concerns about something going on in the game, please tell the mod. I expect all of you to treat each other with respect. If I see any badmouthing players or characters outside of game (that includes twitter and tumblr), you will be asked to leave.

07. In the unfortunate event that you and another player have some sort of falling out, please try to keep it between you and the mod (possibly). I don't expect everyone to be best friends, but that doesn't mean that your characters can simply stop interacting if it makes no sense in game.

08. Please make sure that all character journals have a clear disclaimer stating that they are for game use only.

Game Play

The difference between what goes in a characters journal and what goes in the Comm

Simply put the Comm is where gameplay actually takes place. So if Quinn and Mercedes are going to the mall, that would take place on the gameplay community.

However the conversation where they decided to go to the mall would take place in one of the character's journals. "Private messages" from one character to another should also take place in character journals and be labeled as such. If Brittany wants to PM Quinn, it should say that. Otherwise other characters are allowed to react.

Logging vs. Threading

Well I think most of you are probably wondering what the difference between the two of these are and why we do either.

Logging: Happens in Google Docs (that's right if you want to log, you're going to have to get a gmail account) between two people. Basically, it is used for events happening between two or more characters that may take a few days to work through (i.e. a wedding, the birth of a child, etc.). It can be used for events that you don't want people to see until they are completed. Logging will also be used when your character must interact with an NPC (non-playing character) for an extended period of time. So, if Kurt needs to have a discussion with a fellow student, then it would take place in a log instead of creating a model character for an isolated incident. For this game, any "flashbacks" will also take place via logging. There are no comments in response to the logs. We will act as if comments are disabled.

Threading: Is what happens when one character makes a post to the Comm and are you be used when there are groups of six or more people (i.e. parties, study groups, meetings, etc.)

These posts are to be written in third person, past tense narrative.

i.e. An hour later, Kurt emerged, a smile on his face. "That was quite exhilarating, actually, despite the fact that I will have to exfoliate for an extra hour to remove the stink of 'bar' from my pores."

to which the character(s) involved in the scene would respond, also in the third person, past tense narrative via comments.

Posting to the Comm

All entries in the < ahref="http://flshfwd-wmhs.livejournal.com">Comm</a> must be tagged with character names and their locations. I will create all tags to make sure things stay uniform, but I ask that once made, you apply them. :)

There is also a posting format similar to what most of you have seen via fanfiction. The format for this is:

WHO: Santana and Brittany
WHAT: Cleaning the attic
WHERE: Santana's grandmother's house
WHEN: Wednesday, Sept 9th 2011

All events, logging included, must be posted with this information.

Forms of media for your characters

All forms of media are fair game for your characters. It's the 21st century. We have twitter, tumblr, AIM and email at our finger tips. It's really up to you and how far you'd like to go with your characters. If you can find a way to incorporate it into gameplay, then I encourage it 100%.
